"THE LOVE OF MONEY"
THE LOVE OF MONEY "HE THAT IS OF THE OPINION THAT MONEY WILL DO EVERYTHING MAY WELL BE SUSPECTED OF DOING EVERYTHING FOR MONEY." ~ BEN FRANKLIN
It goes without saying that, in today's capitalistic world, we all need money to survive and to live comfortably. But how much money is too much? Where do we draw the line between having enough to be comfortable and just loving money too much? What I think the difference is between wanting comfort and/or luxury and too much love for money"The love of money" I do not believe money is the root of all evil; I believe people can use money as an evil token. The love of money, in my opinion, cannot be quantified - we cannot say someone who has a lot of money than they know what to do with, loves money too much. There is an African proverb/saying that says "forget (pass) the cow and go (look) after a human being..." What this means is that in a situation where we have to make a choice between helping someone live/survive or keeping our riches, there is absolutely no choice to be made. A person's life comes first. People who have too much love for money may put their love of money first and a person's life, their health, and dignity last. This includes people who make their riches by exploiting others; criminals who enrich themselves by taking people's lives; and those who make/sell substances like drugs, that damage humankind. It's all selfishness and greed. They tend to forget that we are all in this life together, that we are here to help each other survive - that is our sole purpose here on earth. Everything we do connects back to us in one way or another. I admire rich people who continue to seize business opportunities, though others may think they are too much of capitalists, but never forget to uplift, educate and bring on board, those that are less fortunate than thmselves. "THERE IS NO MORE NOBLE OCCUPATION IN THE WORLD THAN TO ASSIST ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, TO HELP SOMEONE SUCCEED"
