What is depression? - the definition.
DEPRESSION is an emotional illness and can be described as a persistent state of sadness/sad mood, resulting in a lack of interest in normally enjoyable activities and/or life itself.
It often distorts the sufferer's sense of reality and can leave them with feelings of helplessness and a willingness to die.
"WHY AM I DEPRESSED?"" DEPRESSION CAUSES
Medically, the condition is brought upon by some imbalance in the brain. The most common social factor contributing to depression is loss - either due to

Other factors that can cause a person to be depressed are extreme loneliness, guilt and anxiety. Stressful living conditions, and poverty contribute and lead to increased sadness in our societies today.
