THE ART OF FORGIVING: HOW TO FORGIVE
Forgiveness for most is easier said than done. Sometimes the wrongs done against us could be so painful that it is beyond the power of the imagination to contemplate forgiving. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FORGIVE? WHAT IS TRUE FORGIVENESS?"Forgiveness is no longer allowing what has happened to consume you." - H Norman Wright In my opinion, "Forgiveness" does not mean you should give the person another chance to hurt you. It has nothing to do with getting back together or working things out. You can forgive but still move away or walk away. WHY WE NEED TO FORGIVE AND HOW TO PRACTICE THE ART OF FORGIVINGWhy should we forgive and how to forgive "Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him; till seven times? Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times; but, until seventy times seven." Matthew 18:21 - 22 Realising that, holding grudges and being angry only eats at you, is enough to make you at least want to forgive. Being bitter, angry, revengeful will affect the quality of your life negatively, as your every move would start to revolve around your anger and bitter feelings. One of my favourite sayings/quotes on forgiveness, by an unknown authour, says: "Forgiveness is letting go the prisoner and realising that the prisoner was you." Yes, forgiving another's wrong-doings sets you free from the bondages of anger.
