WHAT IS "EGG FREEZING"?
"EGG FREEZING" OR "EGG PRESERVATION" Family planning has certainly taken on a new meaning. Science has transformed the way babies are planned (and made!) on this planet. More and more women in developed countries are choosing to freeze their eggs or having their eggs frozen rather, as a means of preserving their youthful and healthy eggs up until they are ready to have them fertilised. "WHY FREEZE YOUR EGGS"WHAT IS AGG-FREEZING AND WHY DO WOMEN FREEZE THEIR EGGS? Egg-preservation through freezing is no doubt a controversial topic. Unlike men, women are born with a set number of eggs and this number does not increase during the cause of their lives. Infacts, it decreases every time a new egg is unfertilised. Biologically, the best time to fall pregnant is in your early twenties. Studies suggest that a woman's ability to fall pregnant decrease from as early as age 27. Sadly, the twenties are also a time when most caree-driven women are focused on their careers, prompting them to postpone falling pregnant/starting a family/having babies. Most career-driven women who want to have a family someday are now opting to have their eggs frozen. Who said you cannot have your eggs and eat them too? "What are the disadvantages of freezing eggs?""EGGFREEZING PROS AND CONS"
The downside to freezing your eggs? Like anything that seems to interfere a bit with nature, it is a highly controversial practice. It is said to be costly and uncomfortable The alternative is embryo freezing, which is apparently more successful but a bit creepy for many. Most fertility clinics perform these procedures for specific medical reasons, most commonly for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, which can negatively impact on their fertility. I certainly do not see any controversy in that case.
