Whether we like it or not, marriages & relationships do get hurt or injured, sometimes very deeply. The hurt or injury could result from such things as infidelity, abuse, lack of commitment to the relationship, financial disagreements, in-law tensions, harsh words - to name but a few. Sometimes people break-up for these reasons because there is no way of reconciling, but often times they don't. They commit to work on their problems and stay with their partners. But sometimes the scar remains way after the wound had, visibly, healed. How do you deal with this scar, which you get to see everyday? How do you make it vanish? Today, we suggest ways to get rid of that dark scar. (We are not judging whether it's right or wrong to stay, but we are suggesting ways and means of healing.) * The first point to always remember is that covered wounds do not heal well. * Talk about the pains with your partner, trusted friends or family, or a counsellor. * Forgive. Forgive yourself and your partner. Forgiveness only frees you from the bondage of hatred and is important whether you decide to carry on with the person or not. * If both of you want to save the relationship, it is important to practice the three T's even more - Touch, Time, and Talk. -Touch: Be more intimate and afectionate -Time: Spend extra time together -Talk: Talk about your feelings, plans, hopes and expectations if any.
