DE-STIGMATIZING-MENOPAUSE
“The menopause is probably the least glamorous topic imaginable; and this is interesting, because it is one of the very few topics to which cling some shreds and remnants of taboo. A serious mention of menopause is usually met with uneasy silence; a sneering reference to it is usually met with relieved sniggers. Both the silence and the sniggering are pretty sure indications of taboo.”

1. TAKE THE STIGMA OUT OF MENO-PAUSE
********************************************************
I was reading about Menopause the other day while suddenly I started to wonder: ‘could a lack of understanding and appreciation for Menopause be the reason for increased marital problems and divorce rates in mid-life’? Think about it. If your spouse is uneducated about Menopause, how do you expect them to understand that your mood swings, your depressed state and your decreased libido (or the obsession with your image if you are a man) have nothing to do with you, with your partner or with your marriage?

1. BE CHALLENGED ********************************************************
I challenge all you women to ('gradually') introduce your men to (female) Menopause…and the possible changes that could occur as a result. Let him know ‘you have not changed’ and are still pretty much there. I challenge all you men to educate yourselves and to be understanding, patient and supportive to your wives. This step could stop misunderstandings and problems in their tracks, saving you and your family a lot of unnecessary stress and heartache. So i encourage you to learn about Men-o-pause, talk about it, de-stigmatise it and go through it together!
