It is okay to try and do something good for ourselves; it certainly is great to aim for health and well-being. But constantly telling yourself that you are not complete or that you are unattractive or that you should have been build a certain way is like lashing at the one who created you. Do you ever stop to think about the one that created you in His own perfect image? What does He think when he hears you complaining about His temple? Do you ever spare a thought for the one that carried you in her womb for 9 months – and then gave birth to you – the most beautiful baby she’s ever seen? Let us not lose track of our purpose here on earth folks and of the purpose of having our bodies. The purpose of our bodies is not to exhibit or to put on a show, rather to assist us in fulfilling our purposes in life. However, to be able to do our best, we must feel our best. Learn to love and appreciate yourself the way you are. Starting from today, look at your body the way God would. Talk to your body the way He would. Care for and nurture it the way your mother would. Relate to it like you would relate to a loved one. Do not ever allow the world to dictate to you what sort of body you should be having.
